Queer Lipstick, Locks, and Liberation: Reclaiming the Stage – The Drag Uprising

The Drag Uprising is a powerful cultural and political movement that has transformed the drag performance art from a subcultural pastime into a mainstream force of self-expression, resistance, and visibility. „Lipstick, Locks, and Liberation“ captures the essence of this revolution—where drag queens, kings and Quings, adorned in bold lipstick, extravagant wigs, and fearless performances, reclaim their space on stage and in society. This movement is not just about glamorous costumes and dazzling performances; it’s about challenging norms, advocating for LGBTQ+ rights, and creating a platform for marginalized voices. As drag has moved from underground clubs to global stages, it has become an emblem of liberation, celebrating gender fluidity, individuality, and the power of self-expression in a world that often seeks to define and limit identity.
